Summer is winding down...

Well. Summer is almost to an end for us teachers. My boys will head back to the babysitter's house and we will begin to get up early again and go to bed early again and not be able to spend a lot of time together. I am sad :( Owen just turned 6 mos. old. Hunter is 3 already. The boys are growing up so fast. I feel like I am missing it all. Owen has began to eat baby food. We have tried carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, green beans, prunes, and applesauce. At first he loved the carrots and the sweet potatoes. He had applesauce today and LOVED it! I hope he will still eat the other foods now that we have given him that.

Hunter is growing up so much. Some days I feel that he is smarter than I am. I think we have a genius on our hands! He can remember things that happened years ago and he does not let you forget that he knows. I am debating on whether to send him to preschool or not. I think just being in a school situation will help him tremendously.

My summer has consisted of my boys, swimming, and couponing. My new hobby I suppose. I love to coupon weekly at Walgreens and Meijer. I occasionally hit up Walmart for some deals and overage possibilities. I have a nice little stockpile going on. I will not need toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, or pads for a long time. I have a nice stockpile of cleaning supplies including laundry detergent. I love to hit up Marsh for triple coupons because you can score lots of great items that way, for FREE or nearly free!

It's a boy!
Owen Lukas is here!
2/13/11
7lb 10oz
20.5 inches long
4:52am

So Mr. Owen decided to make his arrival the day after his little cousin Calen (born prematurely at 27 weeks), so they each have their own birthdays! He also decided to arrive one day before Valentine's Day! What a super Valentine's Day present for me :)

I had contractions (aka cramping) all day long on and off. I went to bed, decided I couldn't sleep and started timing contractions at 1:30. They were coming 3-4 minutes apart and lasting 30-50 seconds. The doctor said to come when they are 10 minutes apart and lasting that long. So, I called and they told me to head to the hospital. Got to the hospital, got checked in and was 6cm dilated. I had to get an IV bag of meds for strep b and then a bag of water before I could get my epidural. Contractions were coming very close together and hurting in my back as well. I almost couldn't stand it. My bag of water hadn't even gotten through my IV yet and the nurse said I was 9.5cm and they got the epidural put in. As soon as I got settled in, I felt the urge to push, doc was called in, pushed about 6 times and out he came. It was only an hour and a half after we arrived at the hospital!

He is doing great with nursing (my first time nursing) and I actually feel pretty good. It is a lot different than my first son who was 8lb 4oz and seemed so much larger! Here are a few pictures of our new little guy! ENJOY!

39 weeks and Counting

So I have reached 39 weeks in this pregnancy, and I am IMPATIENTLY awaiting the arrival of this baby. I want to have contractions or a water breakage or something really soon.

Last appointment, I was 2cm dilated and 60% effaced, head is down and the baby's heartrate was 154. The heart rate has stayed in the 150s for most of the pregnancy.

I have tried eating pineapple & eggplant parmesan to naturally induce labor. Nothing yet :/

Wish me luck, I will post something when the baby arrives. I cannot wait to see my son's reaction to a new baby!

I have LOTS and LOTS of diapers & wipes that are ready to be used from the generous staff that I work with, they are amazing, thanks to them again!
