Summer is winding down...

Well. Summer is almost to an end for us teachers. My boys will head back to the babysitter's house and we will begin to get up early again and go to bed early again and not be able to spend a lot of time together. I am sad :( Owen just turned 6 mos. old. Hunter is 3 already. The boys are growing up so fast. I feel like I am missing it all. Owen has began to eat baby food. We have tried carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, green beans, prunes, and applesauce. At first he loved the carrots and the sweet potatoes. He had applesauce today and LOVED it! I hope he will still eat the other foods now that we have given him that.

Hunter is growing up so much. Some days I feel that he is smarter than I am. I think we have a genius on our hands! He can remember things that happened years ago and he does not let you forget that he knows. I am debating on whether to send him to preschool or not. I think just being in a school situation will help him tremendously.

My summer has consisted of my boys, swimming, and couponing. My new hobby I suppose. I love to coupon weekly at Walgreens and Meijer. I occasionally hit up Walmart for some deals and overage possibilities. I have a nice little stockpile going on. I will not need toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, or pads for a long time. I have a nice stockpile of cleaning supplies including laundry detergent. I love to hit up Marsh for triple coupons because you can score lots of great items that way, for FREE or nearly free!

It's a boy!
Owen Lukas is here!
2/13/11
7lb 10oz
20.5 inches long
4:52am

So Mr. Owen decided to make his arrival the day after his little cousin Calen (born prematurely at 27 weeks), so they each have their own birthdays! He also decided to arrive one day before Valentine's Day! What a super Valentine's Day present for me :)

I had contractions (aka cramping) all day long on and off. I went to bed, decided I couldn't sleep and started timing contractions at 1:30. They were coming 3-4 minutes apart and lasting 30-50 seconds. The doctor said to come when they are 10 minutes apart and lasting that long. So, I called and they told me to head to the hospital. Got to the hospital, got checked in and was 6cm dilated. I had to get an IV bag of meds for strep b and then a bag of water before I could get my epidural. Contractions were coming very close together and hurting in my back as well. I almost couldn't stand it. My bag of water hadn't even gotten through my IV yet and the nurse said I was 9.5cm and they got the epidural put in. As soon as I got settled in, I felt the urge to push, doc was called in, pushed about 6 times and out he came. It was only an hour and a half after we arrived at the hospital!

He is doing great with nursing (my first time nursing) and I actually feel pretty good. It is a lot different than my first son who was 8lb 4oz and seemed so much larger! Here are a few pictures of our new little guy! ENJOY!

39 weeks and Counting

So I have reached 39 weeks in this pregnancy, and I am IMPATIENTLY awaiting the arrival of this baby. I want to have contractions or a water breakage or something really soon.

Last appointment, I was 2cm dilated and 60% effaced, head is down and the baby's heartrate was 154. The heart rate has stayed in the 150s for most of the pregnancy.

I have tried eating pineapple & eggplant parmesan to naturally induce labor. Nothing yet :/

Wish me luck, I will post something when the baby arrives. I cannot wait to see my son's reaction to a new baby!

I have LOTS and LOTS of diapers & wipes that are ready to be used from the generous staff that I work with, they are amazing, thanks to them again!

Ultrasound Photos

We went to get a 3D ultrasound this week :) The baby on the other hand was very uncooperative!
He/She tried to keep their hands in front of their face along with the umbilical cord. Then once the baby would move, she would try to get a good picture and it would turn fuzzy. She did a check of weight and size, and the baby is measuring in at 3lb 10oz, right on schedule, about 2 days earlier, putting the due date around 2/12/11. She also said the baby has hair! YAY!!

The first picture is the picture of the leg measurement. Do you see a gender in this photo? Let me know your guess! hehehe!

It has been a long, long time since I have posted anything.

Here goes:

I am getting larger and larger. I am almost 21 weeks along with this pregnancy. As of my last appointment, I was only 1 pound heavier, so that is good. But I hadn't quite lost all the weight from the first pregnancy, so I can afford NOT to gain that much.

The baby moves and moves and moves. We already had the ultrasound, not finding out what it is. We saw it's behind but I couldn't see anything? It'll be a surprise to everyone :)

I am working on school work quite often. It is stressful sometimes, but quite rewarding!

School/Work has been stressful so far this year. I am so glad I get a break in February with the baby. I don't know if I call it a break, but a break from work for a while. I will still have school work and a new baby. It will be fun :)

I have been into my tv shows since they began: One Tree Hill, CSI: New York, & The Mentalist.

They are amazing!!

I am pondering what costume to dress my son in for Halloween? I need some assistance with the choices? I have no clue what to do....

until next time.

Sciatic Nerve

Well, yesterday during my sons nap,
I decided to walk my usual mile on the treadmill.

that was short-lived.

I started getting a pain in my right butt cheek (aka my hip)
It was my sciatic nerve being pinched.

this baby is totally different than my first one.
I have back pain, more frequent bathroom trips
& now this sciatic nerve thing.

I have gotten lots of tips from
chiropractor to
massage to
how to stand to
exercises to
heat to
cold compress to
be lazy.

I am trying not to stand with my back arched.
This seems to help.
I slept on mostly my left side, since the pain was on the right.
Maybe that shifted the babys position!?!

School aka work starts back up next week.
Not looking forward to less sleep and getting up early,
but I do miss everyone!

It is kind of chilly this morning.
I bet the hot weather comes back once school begins.
That will stink.

Welp.
Until next time...

Can we say BUSY?

Well, I am finished with my first graduate online class. pretty sure I got an A.
I didn't get to check my last grade in the class before it was shut off.
I have been that busy.

The Great Darke County Fair has begun!
I went the first day - Friday, aka Cheerleading Contest!
I helped out the TV Cheerleaders.
PeeWee received 1st,
Jr. High 3rd
and HS 3rd.
They did fantastic!

Got completely sunburnt!
I am peeling right now :/

Went Friday night again with my family for some fair food.
Got my fill of breadsticks, philly steak-n-cheese, strawberry lemonade shake-ups, and fiske fries!

Saturday - went back to the fair with some friends/family from Toledo.
Our sons got a chance to ride the rides, ponies and around in the wagon together.
It was a great day.

Got to eat a Bowman's Texas tenderloin that day,
Mmm...

Sunday - back to the fair once again. This time it was for the Justin Moore & Lady Antebellum concert!!
Talk about AMAZING!!
Went a little early, ate some Hawaiian food.
Noodles & egg rolls were AWESOME!
We had track seating in the back row on the far side,
but we upgraded our seats to FRONT!
My brother & I decided to walk down front and we stood
closest to Lady A as you could get ;)
Got to touch Charles' hand!
Great concert.
Great night.

I haven't been back since.
We have had a busy weekend.
Now time to recuperate.
